We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join us at Zynga Austin in creating Star Wars: Hunters™, a competitive arena combat game for the Nintendo Switch system and mobile devices. Star Wars: Hunters will bring players together to engage in thrilling, squad-based, multiplayer battles featuring a diverse array of distinctive new Star Wars characters.

This role will report to the Senior Engineering Manager in the Austin Studio. As a core member of the Austin engineering team, the Engineering Manager will have an impact on the studio’s engineering culture, and play a key part in supporting the studio’s engineering team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build, lead, mentor and manage a team of 4-8 engineers, scaling over time as we grow our presence in Austin.
  • Grow and mentor your team, earn their trust, advance their skills and their careers.
  • Recruit engineering talent in partnership with our HR team.
  • Build and execute development plans, create and deploy best-in-class process, and proactively identify and resolve issues in partnership with production
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, user experience, product and analytics teams to identify needs, evaluate requirements, write specifications, and design complex software solutions.
  • Support an engineering team through the challenges of building a large scale software project consisting of a sophisticated game client, scalable backend services, development tools and live operations tools.
  • Contribute positively to the development culture at BossAlien, including working with our international team members and UK studio, and creating a safe and inclusive environment for all.
