The ZeniMax Media Inc. Global Infrastructure Team is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join the team and be based in Rockville, Maryland. Your primary responsibilities will include the design, support, maintenance, and optimization for all facets of the physical and virtual server infrastructure globally.
In this role, you'll have an opportunity to influence and contribute to many areas - from network cabling, power distribution, rack organization, and cooling all the way to system design, desktop/server/app virtualization, operating system deployment and optimization, and everything in between.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and overall support of multiple VMware environments and products
  • Lead small to medium project from requirements through implementation
  • Perform Systems Lifecycle management for all equipment, including planning, implementation, maintenance, upgrades, consolidation, and decommissioning of enterprise hardware, and software
  • Detects, isolates, documents, reports, and resolves system outages or problems encountered during operations of the operational baseline, which includes collecting diagnostic data, restore the system operation, developing workarounds, and other activities necessary for recovery of a system
  • Performs system monitoring, analyzing, documenting performance, and conducting trend analysis as required
  • Capacity planning for both physical and virtual workloads
  • Support escalation for global teams
  • Systems and OS deployment

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in VMware/System Administration
  • Production experience, as a VMware admin/engineer, in an enterprise VMware environment (500+ guests)
  • Experience working with change control, incident management, problem management and IT policy
  • Experience with multiple hardware vendor platforms to include Dell & Supermicro preferred
  • Good general knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Redhat)
  • General Windows infrastructure administration including Windows Server 2012, 2012R2, 2016, and 2019.
  • A good understanding of AD design, TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, NTP and network design
  • A good understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, firmware, RAID, and the performance of the devices.
  • Experience with PowerShell, PowerCLI, and other scripting
  • Strong troubleshooting methodology
  • Available to work off-hours to perform maintenance or in case of emergencies
  • Excellent customer service, communication, effective time management, and organizational skills
  • Work independently and as part of a team to support a global organization on incidents, support requests, projects, and other initiatives

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced experience with VMware administration (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, etc)
  • Current VMware Certification(s) (vCP Datacenter)
  • Familiarity with VMware's Cloud Foundation tooling to include vRA, vRO, and NSX
  • Strong working knowledge of storage networking protocols (iSCSI, NFS)
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Previous system administration experience with Active Directory
  • Production experience in hybrid (on-prem, cloud) environments
