The UK Marketing Director will work closely with European Brand Team to make sure the Company’s products meet and exceed consumer expectations and are commercially viable. He/she should be able to achieve profitability and ROI goals, ensure the company is well positioned in the marketplace and have a strategic marketing plan which is brought to market successfully and managed throughout their lifecycle as on-going brands. A focus will be placed on online and digital mobile markets as the business transitions into Games as a Service.

Responsibilities

  • Create, implement and execute UK marketing plans and strategies, taking a strategic lead from global plans with a clear vision
  • Develop and deliver cross disciplined local marketing communication strategies for the Company’s brands and products – online and offline.
  • As part of the UK strategic plan, (ensuring alignment with global strategy) – direct / manage the recruitment and development of the UK Marketing, PR and Community Teams. Develop strategy for both teams, direct, guide and develop the individuals within the team across physical and digital product portfolios
  • Direct / manage product lifecycle to maximise profitability in the UK market
  • Participate in the company’s forecasting and budget planning, making recommendations and setting objectives
  • Direct / manage media agency and budget
  • Conduct and analyse market research data to define product positioning, as well as monitor competitive activity and identify consumer need
  • Direct / manage budget allocations effectively, with maximum impact and ensuring all approvals are sought and obtained
  • Direct / manage local relationships with first parties, obtaining updated information on the market and install base
  • Working closely with the UK Sales Director and the Sales team to develop communication tools to help sell in products to physical and digital retail partners
  • Attend retail meetings presenting code, marketing campaigns, gaining a good understanding of the physical, mobile and digital retail landscapes
  • Establish co-op opportunities locally seeking support from local partners
  • Deliver creative, dynamic and well-communicated game presentations at PR/Trade and corporate events
  • Develop, create, drive and manage the delivery of local consumer show strategy and implement the same
  • Coordinate with the Sales department and PR/Community Manager to align Marketing/Trade and PR strategy
  • In conjunction with the UK Sales Director, negotiate and implement UK trade marketing activities
  • Ensure maximum return on trade marketing investment within prescribed budgets and in support of the broader marketing strategy
  • Ensure all plans are delivered and approved by Europe within company and contractual deadlines and on budget
  • Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of assets and materials, and guidance for their use to all retail and 3rd party digital distributors
  • Report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns using pre-determined KPIs
  • Identify new business ideas
  • Manage and constantly refine the UK’s social media presence

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of FTP marketing, customer acquisition and management and metrics
  • Ability to demonstrate success in managing and growing a PR/Marketing team in the video games industry
  • Excellent contacts in the video games market and good knowledge of the growing influence of social media
  • A minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in marketing, preferably within the video games industry
  • Experience taking AAA video games to market and demonstrating success throughout product lifecycle
  • Experience and understanding of marketing and product performance tracking tools
  • Strong project and people management skills with the ability to work in a diverse culture
  • Focused and results driven with commercial accountability
  • Excellent technical knowledge
  • The ability to remain cool under pressure and adapt to a quick changing environment
  • Self-motivated and confident individual who can communicate at all levels
