Overview

The Business Continuity Planner is responsible for providing support to ZeniMax’s Business Continuity Planning efforts, for improving organizational resiliency to catastrophic business interruptions and ensuring critical operations can continue or are resumed as quickly as possible. In addition, to assists in Emergency Management Executive Committee (EMEC) and to adherence to project milestones and deliverables for planning, training, and exercising activities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the efforts of the emergency management team regarding Business Continuity/ Disaster Recovery Planning.
  • Maintains, on an on-going basis, all ZeniMax family of companies’ business continuity plans by ensuring users are inputting essential data into each BCP and revising the information as needed.
  • Reports the business continuity status of business units to Executive Management.
  • Monitors various BCP websites for applicable information (e.g., FEMA, CDC).
  • Ensures key members of our BCP teams are trained (e.g., floor wardens, damage assessment personnel, etc.).
  • Facilitates operational risk assessments, business impact analysis, business continuity strategy and actionable plan development in accordance with program standards.
  • Maintains the corporate-wide disaster recovery testing plan document.
  • Develops exercise objectives, scenarios, and evaluation standards for multi-disciplinary participants in accordance with Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program guidance (HSEEP).
  • Provides education on business recovery planning to staff members.
  • Travel to other ZeniMax facilities to develop local emergency management procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, homeland security, information technology, or related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in areas such as Continuity of Government, Continuity of Operations, Information Technology Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity Planning, Crisis Management, Continuity Strategic Planning and Policy, or Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Must possess a DRII Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certification or complete requirements for certification within eighteen months of hire.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and Federal laws and statutes pertaining to business continuity.
  • Knowledge of business continuity/ disaster recovery principles, guidance, practices, and resources, including but not limited to tenets of the National Incident Management System (NIMS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Comprehensive Planning Guidance (CPG), the Continuity Guidance Circular 1, Continuity Guidance for Non-Federal Entities, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1600, and the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
  • Skill in effectively communicating verbally and in writing and exercising tact and discretion.
  • Skill in making presentations in group settings.
  • Skill in using a personal computer and applications skills including website design, social media, Windows, and programs within the MS Office Suite.
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Project or other applicable methodological approach for managing projects involving date-driven milestones and deliverables.
  • Skill in preparing effective correspondence and clear, concise reports.
  • Ability to prepare for and respond to disasters.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with emergency services organizations, civic leaders, and professional groups.
  • Ability to exercise considerable initiative and good judgment.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, homeland security, information technology, or related field.
