We are a passionate team of gamers that have been playing for more than 20 years, and are veteran players of League of Legends, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike. We quickly realized that no matter how much time we spent watching Youtube videos, browsing stats websites or reading written guides, we didn’t improve as fast as we wanted. That is why we are bringing comprehensive real-time coaching to esports in order to help players master the highly complex games they love.
Opportunity
Zar is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Front End Engineer to join the team on its adventure.
Your job will consist in designing and implementing the core of our desktop app based on React and Electron. As one of the first employees, you will take ownership of a crucial part of our product and will bring essential knowledge to the team to help it achieve its goals. You will work closely to the founders, have a great amount of freedom in your choices and play a determinant role in the early development of our platform.
We are looking for a passionate and talented candidate that will fit well within the team and the rapidly evolving startup environment. You should be very familiar with main esports games, especially with League of Legends, as our MVP is developed on it. You should have a can-do attitude, be willing to get yourself outside of your comfort zone and have very good communication skills in English. Responsibilities
- Work closely with the founding team to design and implement our desktop app using React & Electron. Identify and set best practices for front-end engineering.
- Effectively communicate strategy, objectives, and performance results cross-functionally.
Position Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- High proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Electron and Node
- Experience in developing applications with Electron
- Experience in developing overlays a big plus
- Experience with React Native and GraphQL a plus
- Proven record of building and debugging high quality, scalable and responsive UI/UX products
- Passion for video games, knowledge about LoL/Dota 2 a plus
- Professional work ethic coupled with sound judgment
- Experience working in a rapid growth environment that requires flexibility and continuous innovation, aka you’re a fast learner, and you feel comfortable being uncomfortable.
- Ability to “roll up your sleeves” to do what is needed in urgent situations while maintaining a “big-picture” view. You are excited about the idea of working with a small team to get the job done, even if you sometimes need to do things that are outside of your direct job description.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English
