Yodo1 is a global games company on a mission. We partner with developers and studios to develop and localize games as well as optimize in-game purchases and advertisements. Our games reach millions of players worldwide.

We need a Chinese- and English-speaking Game Designer to help us innovate our game design and monetization strategies and bring a new game to more players around the world.

You will have the opportunity to learn and grow by:

  • Testing your designs on a new genre combination: female romance story x match 3
  • Working with mega-publisher ByteDance to reach a global audience

Successful candidates will advance to a team lead position.

What does success look like?

At Yodo1, our first question is always WDSLL: What Does Success Look Like? For your role, success looks like this:

  1. Frequently sharing your insights on game design and monetization with the team; contributing suggestions and making decisions on how to enhance our games;
  2. Independently conducting game design, analyzing performance, and proactively refining the game;
  3. Continuously improving your skills and creating higher-value content.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing the core gameplay and overall settings;
  • Identifying players’ goals in the game, so as to optimize the design of numbers, game balance, and game systems;
  • Managing design documentation in terms of conception and design quality;
  • Monitoring product quality from design and development through to the launch and beyond, continuously optimizing the game.

Must-have skills:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in game design, including 3+ years of experience as a chief game designer; experience in dress-up games (with gacha) and/or match-3 games is preferred;
  • Business acumen: good knowledge of global audience interests and needs in match-3 titles and games for a female audience.
  • Game insight: in-depth experience and insight into the Western game markets; able to analyze and improve the game based on data;
  • Language: fluent Chinese and English as working languages is a must to negotiate with many Chinese partners and to study our global audience.
