Technical Artists come in many forms, but your primary responsibility will be to bridge the divide between art, code and design whilst playing an important role in shaping Wushu’s art production pipeline by helping to define the systems we use to create our games. An excellent problem solver, you live and breathe at the bleeding edge of Unreal and technical game art and will work alongside the team to help identify emerging technologies, creating engine tools to strengthen our arsenal and ensuring their smooth integration into our projects.
Fluent in all things Unreal, you will have an excellent grasp of Blueprints and complex materials and will work alongside our artists to help them streamline their daily workflows, solving issues as they arise and assisting the team in delivering assets on-time whilst meeting technical budgets. The Technical Artist will also provide feedback and assist with debugging and optimising complex assets and implementing efficient rendering and VFX techniques.
2-3 years experience in games or VFX production is strongly preferred and you should have at least an intermediate knowledge of CG fundamentals (modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, etc) within Maya, Max, Blender or similar. Coding experience on at least an elemental level would be a significant advantage.
Given the collaborative nature of the role, you’ll have excellent communication skills and a strong desire to be the link between our artists and engineers.
