Wonderstorm is a double threat media studio that creates timeless animated TV series and engaging video games that anchor our entertainment franchises.
Our first franchise, the Emmy Award-winning The Dragon Prince, began as an original animated series on Netflix in 2018. All three seasons have been a Top 10 digital original and are rated 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The series was recently picked up for four additional seasons. A world-class video game for The Dragon Prince is under development by the same creative team.
We are looking for a talented VFX artist who loves to breathe life into games using their artistic skills. You’ll help design and implement dynamic and compelling visual effects that will bring depth to the world of Xadia!
Full-Time and Contract roles available
What you will do...
- Craft stylized VFX assets for characters, weapons, skins, environments, and other in-game elements
- Work closely with the Lead VFX Artist to ensure a unified look and consistent quality across the game
- Produce engaging assets that are of the highest artistic quality and serve the game’s design
- Proactively seek feedback from your Lead, Art Director, and other teammates
- Actively contribute to the growth of a startup studio. Lead by example, including demonstrating a willingness to give and receive feedback, collaborate with others to share techniques and ideas, and contribute to a positive working environment
Qualifications
- 3+ years in 2D and 3D VFX art production
- Proven track record on at least one shipped title (preferably AAA)
- Superior 2D and 3D art skills
- Possess a critical eye for timing, animation, and motion for games
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to enable close collaboration with your team
- Expertise in Maya, Blender, or other technologies utilized in the production of game art
- Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation
- Bonus XP: experience with Unreal Engine 4
