Wonderstorm is a double threat media studio that creates timeless animated TV series and engaging video games that anchor our entertainment franchises.

Our first franchise, the Emmy Award-winning The Dragon Prince, began as an original animated series on Netflix in 2018. All three seasons have been a Top 10 digital original and are rated 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The series was recently picked up for four additional seasons. A world-class video game for The Dragon Prince is under development by the same creative team.

As the Associate Art Director you will partner with the Art Director to support and drive the vision to help deliver the best possible player experience. You will be responsible for applying your artistic eye and experience to lead across all departments internally and externally. What you will do...

  • Work closely with the Art Director to support their vision, help maintain consistency across goals, and ensure the highest of quality across all art disciplines
  • Carry and uphold the artistic vision for the game in all of your interactions
  • Ensure cohesion and inter-department communication by establishing oneself as a partner
  • Drive an art culture that enables talent, encourages proactive collaboration, and maximizes team potential to deliver the best possible game experience
  • Work closely with Production to ensure an efficient pipeline and on-time delivery
  • Lead communication between internal and external teams as they relate to art, and assist with all art requirements to support the game pre- and post-launch
  • Provide mentorship to other artists on the team

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a leadership role within an Art discipline
  • Shipped and supported a game title or similar projects
  • Thorough knowledge of art pipelines within a production environment, and experience with managing agile planning and milestone-based timelines
  • Skilled at providing direction and guidance that is tailored to the different skill levels of artists across various disciplines
  • Exceptionally strong art fundamentals and an eye for detail
  • Constant pursuit of learning and self-improvement
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner visually, verbally, and in writing
  • Bonus XP: Unreal Engine 4 experience
