Job purpose

Wolves are searching for a talented and up-and-coming individual to take up the position of Esports Content Executive and assist the club with its ambitious Esports strategy. Working as part of the content team, the successful applicant will manage the day-to-day running of the club’s Esports channels and assist in the development of a content strategy to support Wolves’ growth in an ever-expanding market.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role

  • Plan, create and distribute engaging content that meets the club’s high digital standards and appeals to both the esports and Wolves follower demographics.
  • Manage the extensive events calendar to ensure that all fixtures and competitions are covered comprehensively on the club’s esports channels.
  • Work closely with the video team to create and execute a strategy for the coverage of key events throughout the esports season, including live streaming.
  • Analytical ability to ensure maximum value from current content offering, to influence future content decisions and identify possible sponsorship opportunities.
  • Support Senior Content Manager, Esports Manager, Social Media Manager and Video Manager with any other relevant tasks.

Person Specification

Knowledge: the level and breadth of knowledge to do the job e.g. understanding of a defined system, method or procedure, legal or regulatory frameworks etc

Essential

  • Detailed knowledge of esports, gaming and its associated digital and media landscape.
  • Passion and knowledge for media/marketing trends in esports, gaming, video production and social media.
  • Good sense of initiative and proactivity with helping Senior Content Manager & Esports Manager with opportunity identification.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Wolves Esports’ teams and players.
  • Knowledge of Wolves’ brand and digital portfolio.

Technical/work-based skills: skills specific to the job e.g. language competence, typing skills, coaching skills etc

Essential

  • Competence with latest content creation suites and creative software.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms relevant to the esports and gaming audience, with a particular emphasis on Twitch, Twitter and YouTube.
  • Proficiency working on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative

General skills and attributes: more general characteristics e.g. flexibility, communication skills, team working etc

Experience: proven record of experience in a particular field, profession or specialism.

Essential

  • Strong experience of esports, ideally covering it to a professional standard

Desirable

  • Experience in working with professional social media accounts.
  • Experience in shooting and editing video to a high standard.
  • A track record of producing written copy to a high standard.

Qualifications: the level of educational, professional and/or occupational training required

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level in video production, digital media, journalism or similar.
