Are you a prolific, professional writer who can effectively coordinate information with multiple teams of designers and art directors? Do you want to craft over 75 art briefs each week with a high attention to detail and excellence?

In this role, you will write art briefs for illustrations that will appear on Magic cards and other expressions of Magic. You must have knowledge of Magic the Gathering and be able to translate the mechanics of the game into innovative and dynamic imagery.

What You'll Do

  • Write 75+ art briefs a week
  • Provide appropriate feedback to art directors about illustrations, including continuity concerns for character and lore
  • Coordinate with designers, IP Team, and Product Architecture to ensure goals for card set are represented
  • Participate in world-building and play-testing to foster communication between groups and make sure card set is aligned with each team's needs
  • Work in a noisy office environment with a diverse group of creatives

What You Bring

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • High level writing skills and professional writing experience - particularly in a visually-related field such as comics or screenwriting
  • Game design or background in art is a plus
  • Deep love and knowledge of games, intellectual vigor, exceptional creativity, and ability to advocate opinions while building consensus.
  • Knowledge of Magic: the Gathering rules and IP elements.
  • Ability to work well on teams and interact with other departments.
