Wizards of the Coast, creator of Magic: The Gathering and publisher of Dungeons & Dragons, is seeking a Social Marketing and Influencer Manager to oversee the social marketing and overall influencer program for Italy, for both Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. This self-starter should have a passion for and experience in video games marketing which includes: building influencer and player communities respectively, establishing a community voice, and customer engagement.

Day to Day Responsibilities For This Wizard

Influencer Management:

  • Build influencer communities in Italy and champion them to be content creators for the Magic brand
  • Work with the Italian Brand Managers for both Magic: The Gathering and D&D to interface and onboard new creators in line with the overall marketing goals

Social Marketing:

  • Work with the Italian Magic: The Gathering and D&D Brand Managers to create innovative and engaging social marketing campaigns.
  • Take consumer insights and forge then into actions and strategies.
  • Track effectiveness of community engagement and express them in ongoing reports.
  • Follow industry trends to continue exploring engagement ideas on the bleeding edge of the industry.

Experience Creating and Casting these Spells:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in video games social marketing & influencer management essential.
  • Experience in AAA gaming brands essential.

Knowledge, Abilities and Characteristics of the Ideal Wizard:

  • Hands-on experience in social marketing.
  • In-depth knowledge of all emerging social platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, Reddit, Forums, and Discord.
  • The ability to translate brand-wide regional community strategies to local activations that drive strong results
  • Hands on experience on driving results in influencer marketing
  • In depth knowledge of top and also up-and-coming gaming influencers in Italy
  • High attention to detail and experience with keeping multiple moving pieces of a project on schedule.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment.
  • Passion for both games AND the business of games.
  • Empathy for gamers and the global gaming community.

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree essential, ideally in a marketing or communications discipline.

Travel Requirements (% of time per year)

  • Up to 10%
