We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Developer to lead, guide, and oversee multiple development teams in Magic: Digital. In this role, you will support teams working on different products, domains and technologies to ensure that architectural design is adhered to, quality software/product is produced and timely market delivery is achieved.

What You'll Do

  • Mentor and guide team members to improve in quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop software (or lead internal and external teams developing code) across a variety of platforms, undertaking design, development, documentation, testing and subsequent ongoing support of new and existing features
  • Works closely with Architecture to ensure agreed upon implementation and compliance based on architectural design
  • Perform code and architectural reviews
  • Strategically plan for future development
  • Consult on complex projects
  • Diagnose problems across the entire system including areas and technologies you may not be familiar with

What You'll Bring

  • 4 year degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in 2 or more major languages, i.e. C#.NET, C/C++, Java, etc
  • 10+ years object-oriented design experience
  • 5-8 years of experience shipping games, working with client/server architecture and using with web systems, applications, and components
  • Expert level knowledge of Design Patterns, UML and OO design methodologies
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Sound knowledge of software engineering, software engineering methodologies, and the impact of early decisions on later development stages of software projects
  • Knowledge of Internet communication protocols and data modeling tools
  • Possesses ability to conduct effective requirements gathering and analysis
