We are seeking an experience Copywriter who will work collaboratively with Art Directors and Graphic Designers to create Brand guides that flavorfully present the essence of Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: the Gathering, and upcoming Wizards IPs. This is not a game design position but is focused on crafting text for Franchise-level guides and documentation that will bring partners with us into the future. The Wizards Franchise Development Team is charged with entertainment and trans-media readiness of all Wizards IP, driving expansion into new mediums and channels. This writer will help us bring our Franchise Brands to life in new ways.

What you'll do:

  • Generate compelling text to support illustration-heavy Brand guides.
  • Research the history and context of our existing IP elements and refine the information into accessible, partner-facing text.
  • Communicate with external Loremasters and SMEs to research and validate content decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to create ongoing documentation roadmaps.
  • Facilitate the gathering and sharing of Franchise knowledge.

What you'll bring:

  • BA in Communications, Creative Writing/English, or a related field
  • Previous professional experience generating text for commercial products, projects, or Brands
  • A track record of delivering jobs and assignments on time and at quality
  • Demonstrable proofreading and copyediting skills
  • Previous experience collaborating on highly visual projects preferred
  • An organized self-starter who can balance driving projects forward while collaborating with other Creatives.
  • A passion for immersive Franchise properties
  • A tireless approach to writing, with flexibility in tone and voice.
  • Computer skills required (Word, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, remote availability)
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign is preferred
