How would you like to help build and grow Magic: The Gathering Arena? As the Digital Design Manager of the Magic: The Gathering Arena team, you will need to understand the intersection of emotion, human interaction, analysis, and design. This role is about seeing the way the team’s work, thought, and collaboration flows and guiding that dynamic to new heights. You’ll work with each designer on the team, and you should show uncompromising dedication to their long-term growth and happiness.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with the Director of Digital Design to unlock the potential of the designers on the team through regular one-on-ones, direct guidance, and ongoing feedback to help each designer grow.
  • Ensure our hiring pipeline sources diverse, passionate people and maintain a fair testing and interview process. Teach, train, and mentor new hires to ramp them up successfully into their roles.
  • Observe the dynamic and workflow of the team. Work with the production team and squads to creatively improve, adjust, and implement process to ensure success, harmony, and a sustainable workload and vibrant culture.
  • Bring your design talent along to help guide best practices, modern digital design sensibilities, and occasionally roll up your sleeves to help bring the Magic to life for millions of players worldwide.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Demonstrable experience in digital game design or UX design on PC, console, and/or mobile platforms (at least 5 years).
  • History of leading and growing teams in a digital games or services environment (at least 2 years).
  • Familiarity with all of Magic’s play expressions and Game Design in general.
  • Unrelenting drive for fostering and growing design talent.
  • Flexible, adaptable, creative mentality with a constant thirst for knowledge.
  • Self-motivated curiosity, active listening, and a diverse toolbox of leadership skills.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of people.
  • Excellent communication skills to improve our shared vision.
