This Editor position draws on your love of language, mastery of grammar, drive for consistency, and knowledge of Magic. Our team of outstanding Editors collaborates to ensure that all text elements of Magic card sets and related materials meet our quality standards for templating, grammar, punctuation, factual accuracy, clarity, audience, tone, consistency between art and text, and layout.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead editing for new Magic card sets and related assets.
  • Facilitate communication between writers and other stakeholders to define project goals and content. Perform significant developmental editing.
  • Coordinate with production to accurately represent product specifications in external- and internal-facing documents.
  • Manage multiple project timelines simultaneously.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience as a paid copy editor or technical writer.
  • One or more years of experience playing Magic required.
  • Solid understanding of past and present Magic cards and rules. Tournament-level Magic play or Magic judge certification preferred.
  • Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Flexible, adaptable mind with a constant appetite for knowledge
  • Insightful, nuanced, and eloquent communication to convey complex subject matter clearly and precisely
  • Deeply collaborative outlook and the confidence and trust to work with others
