WISE Ventures Esports is seeking a Brand Director for Minnesota Røkkr, the new Minnesota based Call of Duty franchise that will begin competition in the first season of Activision-Blizzard’s Call of Duty esports league. The position will be based in Eagan, Minnesota.

The Brand Director will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the development of creative assets across marketing, events, our Eagan facility and more. Candidates should be visionary, strategic creative directors with experience directing photography, graphics, copy and especially video and social media assets for major brands.

WISE Ventures LLC, the parent company of WISE Ventures Esports and Minnesota Røkkr, is an investment fund focused on early and growth stage investment opportunities. The Wilf family owns and operates the esports organization as a separate entity from the Minnesota Vikings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee creative for the brand from strategy to execution
  • Personally develop creative work in your area of expertise
  • Manage a team of creatives
  • Oversee the creative process and develop systems for reviews, feedback and ongoing innovation
  • Ensure excellence in creative and creative practices
  • Help define the brand and develop the brand book and guidelines
  • Collaborate with the sponsorship team to create meaningful and engaging partnerships
  • Work with internal stakeholders to establish KPIs for creative work
  • Oversee producers, agencies and vendors as needed to execute the organizational vision
  • Manage relationship with Activision-Blizzard’s creative team
  • Evaluate customer research, market conditions and competitor data
  • Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in creative media
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and leadership team in the development of overall business plans

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience Required:

  • 7+ years of experience in creative roles for major brands
  • Experience managing others and nurturing junior creative talent
  • Experience in video from GIFs to longform documentary-style and everything in between
  • Expertise in digital and social media marketing
  • Experience with many/most aspects of production and a willingness to roll up sleeves and jump in everywhere
  • A killer portfolio of game-changing creative work
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Skills Required:

  • Comfortability with the Gary Vaynerchuk model of an enormous volume of content
  • Ability to foster a risk-taking creative environment with junior staff
  • Strong understanding of current marketing concepts, strategies and best practices
  • Experience in some or all of the following: Facebook Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Discord, Reddit, Snapchat
  • Insatiable appetite for learning new ways to make creative
  • Expertise in Adobe Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take innovative approaches to improve processes and solves problems
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and ability to work in a collaborative team
  • Display and promote best in class conduct and behavior consistent with organizational standards
  • Foster a culture of high expectations that rewards results, process improvement, fact-based decision making, and ongoing personal development
