WarpMeta is a tournament organizer and provider for gamers to participate in quality competition with strong production. We're looking to improve the competitive gaming experience by building the infrastructure possible to organize the most professional events possible to gamers in Overwatch, The Elder Scrolls: Legends, and more.
WarpMeta is looking for a freelance web developer, with experience in Wordpress based websites. The primary focus of this work is to add new features to improve the tournament experience, and maintain the website.
Responsibilities:
- Update website with new features
- Assist with website maintenance, including working with team to add/remove admins
- Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules
- Solve performance problems and architectural challenges
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Solid understanding of Wordpress websites
- Solid understanding of PHP frameworks
- Solid understanding of frontend development work, including CSS/JS/HTML work
- Strong communication skills, able to communicate with team when required
- Ability to keep composure in stressful environments, able to move quickly when required
- Interest in gaming, competitive tournaments or events is a plus
- Organization skills required, experience with Slack, Trello, Bitbucket, Discord
This is a freelance position, and we ask interested parties to be willing to moonlight for their projects for up to 10 hours a week of work. Work can be done remotely, but must be willing to communicate with team once a week regarding projects and updates.
