Wargaming MS-1 studio is looking for a Technical Artist to join an exciting new multiplayer hero shooter on Unreal Engine targeting worldwide mobile audience.

Technical Artist will contribute to the artistic vision and development of a brand-new product with a specialized focus on VFX, 3D assets and animations, utilizing the combination of traditional fine art and technical art skills.

Our game is built on a game as a service model, to deliver content to our community for years to come and use some elements of MOBA gameplay.

MS-1 is Wargaming’s premier mobile development studio behind World of Tanks Blitz, a renowned cross-platform shooter boasting over 140 million downloads worldwide. MS-1 is a multi-site studio with offices in Vilnius, Minsk, Moscow and Berlin, and currently employs over 350 professionals of various backgrounds and experience across all disciplines, including development, publishing, and operations. What will you do?

  • Create materials according to the team’s requirements
  • Check VFX systems
  • Integrate art assets into the engine (UE4)
  • Improve art pipeline
  • Search for, propose and implement solutions to optimize & increase performance
  • Be a quality/performance gate

What are we looking for?

  • 3+ years in video games industry as a Technical Artist (with at least 1 shipped mobile title in your career)
  • Strong portfolio showing relevant examples of your work
  • Experience in creating, optimizing, and supporting materials for mobile games
  • In-depth understanding of game engines (we work with Unreal)
  • Strong VFX skills (Niagara)
  • Strong experience in any major 3D and 2D packages (Houdini, Maya, Photoshop, Substance Designer).
  • Proven ability for providing support on technical issues to the art team, as well as innovation and art pipeline improvement
  • Solid experience in optimization and performance improvement
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills: you really enjoy working in dynamic, cross-discipline, and iterative team environment
  • Intermediate or higher level of English: enough to pass job interview, enough to participate in daily meetings and discussions with English-speaking colleagues in the team
