Wargaming is looking to hire a Site Reliability Engineer for the Game Services and Reliability department of the company’s flagship product, World of Tanks.

As part of the team, you will interact with the web project development and operation, server, and client departments for World of Tanks throughout the entire application life cycle. Together with your colleagues, you will secure the stable functioning of game servers, web projects and related internal services, and also seek out and resolve problems with performance, reliability, and accessibility of new projects.

What will you do?

  • Interact with development teams, helping with architecture design of new and existing applications, deployment processes (CI/CD), load testing and debugging automation
  • Create and deploy operation automation tools for applications
  • Configure services for working in various environments
  • Locate and resolve performance, reliability, and accessibility-related issues in projects
  • Automate assembly processes, testing, application delivery in containerization systems

What are we looking for?

  • Knowledge of Python or any other scripting programming language; experience using standard libraries, writing unit tests, etc.
  • Proven knowledge of the *nix family systems’ basic principles of functioning
  • Understanding of nginx, uWSGI, and Gunicorn working principles, and ability to configure them
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration systems (Docker, Compose, Kubernetes, Helm, Kops, etc.)
  • Experience with DBMSs (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with bash, grep, awk, less, cat, strace and other shell utilities
  • Experience with message queues
  • Knowledge of basic network protocols
  • Able to understand technical documentation in English
  • Communicative
  • Eager to learn
  • Able and willing to work in a team

What additional skills will help you stand out?

  • Experience with Python frameworks (Django, Falcon, aiohttp)
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles, and experience with tools (TeamCity, Jenkins)
  • Experience with client-server applications
  • Experience with high-load systems
  • Experience designing and implementing complex relational database queries
  • Experience with AWS services (EC2, EKB, ELB, Route 53)
