Job Overview

This job contributes to Wargaming Asia’s success by utilizing PR and Marketing ideas, relationships and experiences for the benefit and growth of Wargaming.

Reports To

PR Director, APAC

What will you do?

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop and execute strategic PR communication plans for Japan across Wargaming products to drive desired business growth and enhance Wargaming’s overall brand awareness
  • Develop localized press releases in Japanese for Japan media based on global English press releases
  • Manage press release distribution to Japan media and coverage tracking after distribution
  • Build long-term and positive relationships with all existing media contacts, influencers and partners, etc.
  • Manage all inquires and requests from Japan media
  • In charge of monthly country reports, coverage reports, fact sheets, background information, key message documents, etc
  • Pitch, coordinate and arrange media interviews with Wargaming spokesperson for Japan media
  • Attend weekly meetings with product groups, APAC PR Director and work closely with APAC Product Marketing Manager
  • Potential management of PR/Marketing/Social Media events in Japan
  • Identify, host and manage Japan media for local media events/media tour or regional press

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Journalism or relevant disciplines
  • Min. 3-5 years of PR experience with Japan market understanding
  • Possess strong understanding of Japan media trend/landscape as well as journalist’s preference/taste
  • Good people skill to be able work cross-functionally and independently, serving as a bridge between product teams and media
  • Must be a responsible team player with a high level of self-organization ability
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity – being adaptable to different environment
  • Excellent communication skills both in Japanese and English - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, in English and Japanese
  • Knowledge of developing PR campaigns
  • Ability to analyse and optimize PR campaigns
  • MS office efficiency

What additional skills will help you stand out?

  • Prior working experience in gaming, entertainment is a plus
  • Previous experiences using Google Analytics or has the strong willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with wargaming product
  • Professional writing/copywriting skills
  • Regional working experience with partner contacts is a huge plus
  • Familiar with social network platforms and social networks content management tools
