What will be your main challenges?

As Senior Legal Counsel in the Commercial/IP team, your role entails acting as a business partner with/for the operation teams to fulfill their business and legal needs by handling contractual matters for the publishing, marketing, product and partnership teams. Your experience in IP will also help bolster the company’s asset-protection strategy.

Main challenges:

  • Negotiate, draft and/or review a variety of commercial agreements for the publishing, marketing, partnerships, tech and product teams, including publishing and licensing agreements, user acquisition and monetization agreements, and/or service agreements.
  • Have the capacity to truly understand the company’s business needs and the market in which the deals are made to mitigate risk and ensure our assets are protected.
  • Contribute to a more efficient, knowledge-driven contractual process that will allow the legal team to deliver faster.
  • You will participate in challenging and innovative deals, and promote efficiency in contract negotiation.
  • You will ensure that Voodoo’s contracts with its partners are business-oriented yet as solid as possible from a legal standpoint.
  • You will promote trust between the legal and operations team and contribute to the legal team being seen as a business partner.

What do we expect?

  • Minimum five years of relevant professional experience negotiating
  • IT/IP/Entertainment/Tech/Ad tech contrats. Prior experience in a law firm is highly preferable
  • Strong knowledge of IP law (copyright, trademarks, designs) will be highly considered
  • Fluency in English and French required
  • Business-oriented, creative, and full of initiative
  • Capacity to work with operational teams and deliver fast
  • Constant search for excellence in the work that you do
  • Collaborative team player with an ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

Nice to have:

  • Fluency or proficiency in another language where Voodoo’s business is present
  • Prior experience in gaming or a tech company (ad tech, entertainment, social media)
  • Experience in both France and another jurisdiction (notably a common law country) will be highly considered
