What We Need:
Our Austin, TX studio is seeking a senior level Designer to help drive innovation and excellence in the legendary NBA 2K franchise.
What You Will Do:
- Mentorship and management of a small group of designers
- Work closely with other designers and team members to forge innovation in sports gaming
- Communicate designs clearly by way of prototypes, documentation, and visual guides
- Script game and camera logic
- Work closely with Design leadership to achieve amazing standards
- Learn from and grow with some of the top talent in the industry
Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit:
- At least 5+ years of experience in a senior designer role
- Small team management experience
- Skilled in every aspect of game design: mechanisms, systems, economy, etc.
- Deep understanding of game design fundamentals: communication, motivation, learning, balance, pacing, and flow
- Deep understanding of User Experience and the relationship between a designer and player
- Strong technical skills with experience in scripting and implementing designs
- Self-aware, life learner, always keeping up with the latest technology, workflow tips and tools
- Can work to specification and to schedule, in an existing pipeline, and equally work with minimal instruction if needed
Nice to Have:
- Psychology background
- Python/Mel Scripting
- A love for basketball
