Video Games Deluxe is a small dynamic team based in Sydney, Australia. We have recently completed the multi-platform release L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for PC and PS4 and we are currently developing an exciting new project. Video Games Deluxe has worked exclusively for Rockstar Games since 2013.

Job Description

Video Games Deluxe is seeking a Senior Animator with Technical Animation knowledge. You will be responsible for creating a diverse variety of animations and rigs for a AAA Virtual Reality Open World project.

You will be working with characters, vehicles, weapons and general props as well as creating/enhancing rigs. We require a motivated professional with a strong eye for detail, a fundamental understanding of game development processes and a passion for video games.

Your expertise in the creation of animation and rigging will cover a broad range of key areas including character, facial animation, weapon mechanics with keyframe fields and potential mocap. You are required to be a problem solver with a strong knowledge of the technical aspect of your craft. This includes practical experience with current 3D software and game engines. There will also be the opportunity to collaborate with our team on improving the animation and art pipelines.

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum four years’ experience in animation and/or animation production
  • Game animation experience
  • Experience in a variety of animation styles displayed in a diverse portfolio
  • Creative skillset that can adapt to technical requirements
  • Ability to create and enhance diverse rig types
  • Thorough understanding of the video game production pipeline
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy
  • Practical knowledge of current 3D software (Maya, Max and Motionbuilder)
  • Practical knowledge of current Game Engines, Unreal Engine Preferred
  • Liaise with artists, programmers, designers and outsourcing
  • Experience of creating state machines and motion trees
  • A self-motivated team player with good communication skills

Salary commensurate with skill and experience
