What you’ll be doing...

The Consumer Content and Partnerships Team is responsible for connecting consumers with the content and experiences they love on the nation’s best network.

We oversee partnerships, source opportunities and negotiate with a broad range of content and programming entities, including major broadcast and cable companies, sports leagues, emerging O&O platforms, OTT/digital providers, studios, AR/VR producers, retailers, gaming developers, and live entertainment venues and production companies. Content serves as a key driver in consumer decision making, and the role that content plays for our current and future customers is increasingly critical. As the largest direct-to-consumer platform in the U.S., we have a massive opportunity to herald in the next consumer use cases for video, audio, immersive and live experiences. Our team sits at the center of that opportunity.

Verizon is seeking a motivated, critical thinker who is ready to be a leader in content-driven partnerships and initiatives that relate to 5G, gaming, VR, AR, and other new immersive content formats and applications. The candidate will be expected to provide thorough research, well-reasoned analysis and models in support of marketing initiatives and to be able to drive deal negotiations. This is the perfect role for a business development professional that wants to be on the forefront of new content experiences and has the drive and creative vision to see new partnerships through from ideation to execution. The candidate will cultivate key publisher and developer relations across the digital entertainment landscape, from mobile games to immersive entertainment apps, leading strategy and execution in complex deals.

What we’re looking for...

Verizon is seeking a motivated, critical thinker who is passionate about the evolving video content distribution landscape to provide thorough research, well-reasoned analysis and robust financial models in support of content strategy initiatives and deal negotiations.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and own a portfolio of digital content partnerships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability for close collaboration with members of the Product, Marketing and Network organizations

Even better if you have:

  • Analytical, detail-oriented, innovative and committed to quality outputs.
  • Self-starter highly organized, efficient, and capable of leading meetings and driving them towards a common goal.
  • Ability to create “Consultant-Grade” presentations that clearly articulate the market, customer needs, Verizon relevance in this space, and define the strategy that will allow Verizon to win.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, taking the initiative, prioritizing multiple projects, and working under tight time-frames to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to grow and maintain a network of relationships which facilitate deal flow
  • Passion for the entertainment and gaming industries.
  • End-to-end deal experience, including sourcing, structuring, and executing successful partnerships such as large scale marketing and content deals, technical collaborations, complex digital media transactions, and strategic technology relationships.
  • Market/customer centric vision knowledge.
  • Experience developing business cases.
  • Experience reviewing contracts, creating issues lists, bid/ask, and redlining.
  • Knowledge of the cloud and device-based gaming ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of AR/VR/MR landscape.
  • Experience developing and presenting slide decks to senior executives.
  • Excellent skills in PowerPoint, Word, and GSuite (Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar, Docs).
