Valkyrie Entertainment, located in downtown Seattle, is looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our development team to help us deliver games that are high-quality, exciting, and most importantly, great player experiences!

We are currently working on several projects, including God of War Ragnarok, as well as in-house projects for both mobile and console platforms.

Our studio is located in the heart of downtown Seattle with Pike Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Waterfront, several theaters, Metro transit system, and many culinary delights all within just a few blocks walking distance

Job Description

As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations providing systems as well as application support across multiple platforms and services. You will make sure the office computers and network are running securely and smoothly, adapt to changing technology, and support a growing company. You will work closely with developers in supporting new services and tackle issues as they arise.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary IT support, coordinating with team members to diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues on PC/MacOS workstations and infrastructure hardware.
  • Day-to-day administration of heterogeneous environments, including automation, review, and policy testing.
  • On-site support to help answer employee questions and partial after-hour availability for critical issues.
  • Maintain a secure environment and provide information security guidance to product development teams.
  • Work with management to stay current on and preserve software licensing, auditing, and subscriptions.
  • Stay ahead of 0-day security issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.
  • Use imaging and deployment tools (SCCM) to ensure workstations and applications are deployed in a standardized manner.
  • Administer backup and disaster recovery system.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for procedures and user resolution documentation.
  • Provide timely and creative solutions to challenging problems.
  • Ability to work calmly in high-pressure situations and manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • Actively Identify, Improve, and automate processes.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of IT Operations / Technical Services experience.
  • Current practical, hands-on experience with modern tech stacks and architectures.
  • Experience in Windows, MacOS, Unix, and Linux System administration activities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of VMware, Hyper-V, HP, Cisco, Juniper, OSI, L4LB, etc.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting issues in complex production environments.
  • A positive attitude and excitement for building new processes and policies for a growing organization.
  • Experience working with remote teams and using tools like Slack or Zoom to support them.
  • Knowledge of server and PC workstation hardware, software, and security essentials.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new and changing technologies and changing conditions.
  • Possess a scientific, pragmatic, yet flexible approach.
  • Ability to work well in teams, cooperate, and communicate with individuals and stakeholders from various backgrounds and hierarchical levels.
  • Familiarity with industry compliance security standards.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Passion and enthusiasm for video games.
  • MCSE, MCSA or MCP certification.
  • Can automate tasks through various scripting languages (Python, Powershell, etc).
