Urban Games is an independent PC video game developer based in Schaffhausen, located centrally and just 36 minutes from Zurich. Urban Games’ third title, Transport Fever 2, was successfully released in late 2019 and enables the company to continue growing. A product engineer understands the requirements of the product from a player perspective and teams up with developers to plan and realize user stories, game features and new technologies.

Responsibilities:

Team up with software engineers and artists to plan and realize new developments
Work out specifications for new game features and technologies in consultation with the team
Test the work of software engineers and give feedback as an iterative process
Approve the work of software engineers and artists from a product perspective
Understand the market and keep up to date with the fan base

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
At least intermediate programming and scripting skills
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical team members
Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks
German and English communication and writing skills

Preferences:

Master's degree in computer science or related field
Advanced or expert skills in programming and scripting (C++ and Lua)
Experience with automated testing systems
Advanced skills in user interface design
Professional experience in game development
