The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced design leader to drive the strategy, innovation, and execution of user experiences across our Central Technology organization. This team supports the foundational products and platforms that power our company-wide systems, including Commerce capabilities, cloud services, IT and infrastructure tools as well as customer facing content platforms, marketplaces like the Asset Store, and the Unity Dashboard.

As a Senior UX Design Manager, you will collaborate closely with executive leadership across Product, Engineering, and Marketing to define and implement a unified UX strategy. Your work will directly impact critical business outcomes and elevate the experiences of our diverse user base, ranging from indie developers, large game studios and IT professionals to end customers and internal teams.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of UX designers, user researchers, and design system specialists.

  • Develop and implement design strategies aligned with product and organizational goals, ensuring user-centered outcomes for foundational technology products.

  • Oversee the creation and evolution of cohesive design systems, workflows, and patterns across diverse tools and platforms.

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders in Product, Engineering, and Data Science to envision and deliver innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with user needs and business objectives.

  • Champion a seamless and consistent user experience across all Central Technology products, fostering collaboration across design, product, and engineering teams.

  • Utilize data-driven insights, research findings, and feedback loops to continuously improve and iterate on design strategies and outcomes.

  • Promote a culture of inclusive design, accessibility, and scalability in all UX initiatives.

What we're looking for

  • The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading cross-functional design teams, developing scalable and cohesive design systems, and delivering impactful solutions in technically complex domains. They will bring a strong customer-first mindset, deep technical curiosity, and a passion for building seamless, intuitive, and inclusive experiences.

  • What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience managing and growing UX teams in large, cross-functional organizations, ideally within complex ecosystems like SaaS platforms, cloud services, or enterprise solutions.

  • A portfolio showcasing successful delivery of user-centric designs for technical audiences (e.g., developers, IT admins) or creative professionals.

  • Strong experience in developing and scaling design systems and workflows that serve diverse use cases across multiple platforms.

  • Exceptional collaboration, communication, and presentation skills with a track record of aligning stakeholders around a unified UX vision.

  • Deep understanding of user research methodologies and how to integrate them into the design process.

  • Passion for leveraging technology to create intuitive and empowering user experiences.

You might also have

  • Experience designing for B2B, developer tools, or cloud-based platforms.

  • Familiarity with eCommerce ecosystems or enterprise IT systems.

  • Hands-on experience with data visualization, dashboards, or infrastructure tools.

  • Background in fostering inclusivity and accessibility in design processes.
