The opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Internal Communications Manager to join our global Communications team. This is an individual contributor role based in Montreal, designed for a strategic communications professional with a passion for engaging and inspiring employees both locally and globally. The successful candidate will have proven experience leading strategic internal communications initiatives in a global environment and in Quebec, specifically, with a strong track record of designing and implementing initiatives that resonate with employees at the local (Montreal), regional (North America), and global level and ideally at publicly-traded companies. They will also demonstrate the ability to partner with and influence peers within the Communications team and beyond, as well as members of the leadership team, and other key executives and internal stakeholders.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading communications that inform employees, foster employee engagement, and drive alignment with our company’s vision and values as we are transforming into a new and better Unity and put our customers and community back at the center of everything we do. You will fully own the strategy and execution of local (Montreal) and regional (other key North American offices) internal communications while co-owning global initiatives with the other members of the internal communications team. Your ability to balance both global and local/regional needs will be crucial in ensuring a cohesive and impactful employee experience. This role requires fluency in both French and English and a unique balance of autonomy and collaboration. It reports directly to the Vice President of Global Communications.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the design and execution of local and regional internal communications strategies, fully owning their impact and success.

  • Collaborate closely with global internal communications team members to co-own and contribute to global initiatives, ensuring alignment and consistency in messaging across all regions.

  • Develop and implement communications campaigns that inform, engage, and inspire employees, driving a strong connection to the company’s mission and goals.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to local and regional senior leaders, offering guidance on internal communications best practices, strategies, and internal crisis communications.

  • Proactively and reactively partner with the leadership team and other executives to ensure alignment on internal communications strategies and approaches.

  • Work closely with the Communications leadership team and key business stakeholders to manage crisis communications.

  • Partner closely with the rest of the global Communications team, HR, business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and relevant communication around key business initiatives and employee engagement activities.

  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of internal communications through feedback and analytics, continuously refining approaches for maximum effectiveness.

  • Ensure that all internal communications are culturally sensitive, taking into account the diverse nature of our global workforce.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in internal communications including at global, publicly traded companies.

  • Proven expertise in designing and executing internal communications strategies at the local, regional, and global levels.

  • Strong cultural sensitivity and experience in adapting communications for diverse employee populations.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team, managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.

  • A strategic thinker with a proactive approach to solving problems and driving initiatives forward.

  • Full fluency in both French and English is required

  • Experience in change management communication and supporting company transformations is needed.
