The Architectural Services group provides Unity’s engineers with crucial opportunities for technical collaboration across the company that significantly improves how we build our products. Our group is looking for an outstanding and highly collaborative engineer to work with our internal teams to guide technology discussions balancing short-term delivery with longer-term reuse.

While working with the VP of Architectural Services, you will engage with Unity’s global development teams to identify areas for increased software design collaboration and heightened technology utilization.

You are intellectually curious and eager to learn new systems and technologies, and know when to use the right tools for the task at hand. You are an active listener, and adopt & support diversity. You act with integrity, honesty, and objectivity. You are confident both reading and writing code, you utilize diagramming as a means to reflect your ideas broadly, you are data-centric, and know that truth lives in the source code!

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for enumerating, understanding, and detailing the composition of engineering systems using first-hand analysis of source code, systems, data, and prototyping
  • Navigating the internal Unity engineering ecosystem through partnership and collaboration
  • Actively seek out alignment with leadership to align, guide, and craft the future of Unity’s technology horizon

What we’re looking for

  • Senior technical experience working across different teams and projects
  • Deep experience building production software with C++ or C#
  • Expertise with CI/CD systems deploying code to production environments
  • Broad knowledge of architecting systems across multiple platforms, devices, and ecosystems
  • Experience with software architecture and API design

You might also have

  • Experience with the Unity Editor and ecosystem
  • Proven understanding of Linux, Mac OS, or Windows system internals
  • Has shipped production code in a public cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
