Pre-Launch Services Lead - Multiplayer
Developing a multiplayer game is hard. Launching a multiplayer game and making sure it performs perfectly under an onslaught of players is even harder. Game studios repeatedly fail to give their titles the proper support in production, be it for lack of properly testing their game servers and services before launch day, planning for failure scenarios, or ensuring they can quickly update every part of their environments. Unity wants to change that.
We are building software and services to handle a bit of load generation, some chaos engineering and a dash of data gathering. We are thinking about how we can help studios see how their multiplayer environment will behave in production so they can iron out the problems before players come rushing in. Our first target is to permit game studios to easily simulate tens of thousands of players and gather as much information out of this as possible.
We are looking for a Software Development Lead to define and build services that will help game developers have confidence that their game is ready to sustain the scale that today’s multiplayer games demand. You will be given the freedom to drive large initiatives in this area.
