The opportunity

Unity Technologies is looking for a Software Development Manager who will join the Asset Solutions team in building the next generation of Asset Management solutions in the Cloud. You’ll be joining a growing team of developers who are building incredible tools to help creators and developers build and manage their assets in the Cloud.

As a Manager in the Asset Solutions team, you will manage a talented team of developers which is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of services related to the integration, transformation and ingestion of assets. You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring this vertically integrated team and support them in planning and accomplishing their goals and commitments.

Outside of managing your team, you will be responsible for collaborating with a wide array of other groups (developers, product managers, leadership, etc) to both support your team’s commitments, as well as, delivering solutions for other dependent projects.

This role will blend technical leadership with people management. You’ll be responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent. What you'll be doing

  • Building and driving the technical strategy for your team

  • Aligning your team’s technical strategy with business objectives, fostering innovation, and ensuring high standards for performance, security, quality, and scalability

  • Communicating your team’s vision and progress to internal and external leaders and teams

  • Supporting and mentoring your team members as they advance in their careers

  • Driving day to day execution by using Agile methodologies, and motivating your team by explaining how their work relates to the wider business context

What we're looking for

  • Experience in leading a Full-Stack distributed team of engineers through coaching, mentoring, and setting an example

  • Exceptional leadership skills with ability to drive alignment between wider teams, and capable of making key decisions around technologies used, deliver dates and priority of work

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to contribute to high level discussions, reporting of the team’s progress, and also relay information back to the team

  • Experience leading a cloud development team and was responsible for the architecture and development of scalable systems (a strong knowledge of C#, .Net and Microservices Architecture)

  • Proven experience in the planning, execution and reporting of team progress, including the managing risks through analysis, escalation, and mitigation

You might also have

  • Understanding of Version Control Systems like Unity Version Control (UVCS), Perforce, Git, Google Drive, and S3 Bucket

  • Experience around complying with Security, Legal and Privacy requirements

  • Experience developing with the Unity Engine, creating Front End systems, and working with Digital Asset Managers (DAM)/Content Management Systems (CMS)
