The opportunity

You will join Unity's Site Reliability Engineering team, which is responsible for defining and further developing tools and processes around reliability and resiliency. Our mission is to accelerate the success of engineering teams in delivering high value products and services that our customers love.

SRE teams at Unity are geographically distributed between AMER, EMEA and APAC. Within EMEA the team is spread between Helsinki, Vilnius and Edinburgh.

We are highly passionate about helping teams to learn from each others findings, and you will help us to get people be more proactive when it comes to identifying issues within their services, architecture and design.

What you’ll be doing

  • Participating in problem management by assisting teams to prevent possible incidents and driving incidents towards resolution with Service Owners and Site Reliability Engineers

  • Developing services and tools for automatically detecting, eliminating and preventing service disruptions

  • Participate in defining Site Reliability policy, process, technology and standard methodologies

What we’re looking for

  • The candidate is currently studying at a degree level in a relevant subject such as Computer Science

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and tasks

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and handle time independently and efficiently

  • Experience with, or strong curiosity about, Linux systems, Docker, Kubernetes

  • Willingness and flexibility to work changing shift patterns including weekends and public holidays

You might also have

  • Customer oriented mentality

  • Experience on any cloud provider, such as AWS, GCP, Azure

  • Experience with scripting and/or programming in Go, Python, Bash or equivalent

  • Healthy obsession with metrics and measurement!

  • Contribution to open source projects and/or an exciting Github page
