We are looking for a Compliance Intern to join our IT Governance, Risk & Compliance team in San Francisco. The GRC team is a part of the CIO organization and is focused on ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements and regulations, which includes GDPR, CCPA, PCI and SOX.

As an intern you can expect to take ownership of a small but key part of our governance, risk and compliance initiatives. With help of the rest of the team you will work on our IT and SOX controls, along with ensuring the controls are performed as expected, and reviewing the Systems and Organization Controls (SOC) reports for relevant vendors.

In addition, you will be working closely with a number of teams, such as the rest of the CIO organization, Finance, Legal, Procurement and Security.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the CIO organization, Finance, Security, etc. to improve our internal governance, risk and compliance
  • Support our SOX compliance by creating or update documentation related to relevant controls and procedures, performing SOX vendor compliance reviews, and executing on and coordinating SOX controls
  • Update and/or create internal documentation for audits, compliance, and projects; particularly knowledge base on internal Confluence, process flowcharts and meeting notes
  • Assist with vendor review activities for the CIO organization
  • Perform research by reviewing tickets and issue logs, and assist with data analysis

Requirements

  • Current student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Systems or equivalent and returning to the degree program after the completion of the internship
 for at least one semester
  • Understanding of general accounting and/or business principles
  • Desire to learn about IT risk management and controls
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with a set of tools like spreadsheets, presentation slides, and emails
