The opportunity

The Ad Unit Innovation team at Unity optimizes how ads are displayed on over a billion mobile devices! We are responsible for crafting engaging ad formats, and building the pipeline to deliver personalized ads for billions of monthly users on Unity’s ad network. Developers on the team have the freedom to influence the technical direction and team culture.

With an emerging set of products, evolving problems, and an enthusiastic team committed to growth, you can have an impact at the team and product level. As a Front-End Intern, you will have the opportunity to be mentored on standard methodologies and performant user interface design.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design, build, test, and run experiments on user interfaces for mobile devices
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality code delivery
  • Write high-quality and scalable code that supports the existing and future functionality of the product
  • Write code that runs on most mobile devices in the world
  • Handle personal project priorities and release dates

What we’re looking for

  • Experience with at least one of the following languages: Javascript/Typescript, React, HTML & CSS.
  • A passion for creating usable, polished and enjoyable UI and UX
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both in person and via digital means with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Growth mindset: None of us has the perfect answer the first time, it's important that we seek feedback and are able to iterate and improve over time.
  • Eagerness to learn alongside experts in the field!

You might also have

  • Art or design background
  • Interest in AB testing, statistics, or reinforcement learning

What to expect from your internship at Unity

  • Duration: 15 or 16 weeks depending on your academic calendar. Start date May 2 or May 9 2022
  • Mentorship: You’ll be working simultaneously with a manager and a mentor to help you develop your skills throughout your internship.
  • Impact: Our interns are working right alongside full time team members on projects that have a lasting impact on our product and services.
  • Networking & Development: Learning activities, networking opportunities, and social events take place throughout the summer to enrich your internship experience.

Basic requirements - Canadian student cohort 2022

  • Current students pursuing a relevant university program, returning to their degree program for at least one semester, and graduating in December 2022 or in the year 2023.
