This role will be remote until at least June 2021, however this role will eventually be onsite at our offices in El Segundo, CA.
Job Description
- Plan, prioritize, assign and regularly follow up on tasks and the advancement of the team’s work with regards to deliverables
- Create character animations through a blend of key-frame animation and motion capture
- Anticipate and recognize potential conflicts or production issues and recommend solutions
- Work with motion capture data for both cinematic and in-game features
- Implement gameplay animations into state machine
- Facilitate and inform tool development
- Ensure that the work of the team follows the quality standards, artistic direction and set deadlines
- Experience giving both positive and negative feedback in a constructive way that achieves artistic and technical goals while maintaining team morale
- Collaborate with designers, artists, and programmers to establish, iterate, and refine the animation pipeline
- Motivate and develop the team members and act as a mentor in terms of technical/artistic aspects
Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional gameplay animation experience with at least one shipped title as Lead Animator
- A strong demo reel that demonstrates expert knowledge of fundamental animation principles
- Demonstrate proficient command of weight, timing, and posing through manipulating motion capture data as well as key-framing
- High level of proficiency in Maya
- Work well in a creative, team-oriented environment, exhibiting excellent communication, time-management, positive attitude and organizational skills
- Experience in a management role
- Strong leadership skills, time and priority management
- High proficiency in technical problem solving
Bonus Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or diploma, with an emphasis in animation
- AAA game development experience
- 1 or more published titles working with first person or third person perspectives
- Good technical knowledge of UE4 or other game engines
- Knowledge of Perforce
