Ukie, the UK trade body for Interactive Entertainment is looking for an esports Programme Manager to deliver its flagship Digital Schoolhouse esports tournament.

Digital Schoolhouse powered by PlayStation is a not for profit programme that is delivered by UK Interactive Entertainment (Ukie) which is the trade body that represents over 400 businesses from the games and interactive entertainment industry in the UK.

The position will allow the successful candidate to shape our work in the exciting world of esports and bridging the gap between industry and education in order to revolutionise computing education and careers advice.

The esports Programme Manager will work with the wider the Ukie team and Digital Schoolhouse to support the continued growth and expansion of esports and careers education work across the UK.

Main Duties:

Manage the delivery of the Digital Schoolhouse National Esports Tournament – expanding its reach over the next two years to 60 participating schools and 6000 students.

  • Secure continued funding and in-kind support for the tournament
  • Work with the Digital Schoolhouse team, marketing agency and friends of the programme to recruit schools to participate in the tournament.
  • Work with the Senior Communication and Events Officer to manage all communications around the tournament.
  • Plan and deliver the production of the tournament knockout events
  • Develop and deliver a long-term vision for the tournament and its strategic growth both nationally and internationally, with an aim to become more self-sustaining.
  • Develop a programme of activity to deliver esports clubs in schools as a method for continued and sustained careers engagement.
  • Explore and develop additional activities which widen the breadth and impact of the Digital Schoolhouse programme; including a pilot of small-scale regional tournaments delivered by secondary schools for local primary schools.

Hours of Work:

  • Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm (this is a part time role and we are looking for someone to work approximately 3 days per week)
  • The successful candidate will be based at Ukie’s London based offices, but also working remotely is an option.
  • Fixed Term contract until April 2020

Salary:

  • £30-35k
  • Fixed term contract until April 2020
