In 2020, Uken released Ava’s Manor, a solitaire game where users renovate and decorate the manor while discovering mysterious clues and dabbling in a romantic love story. Uken’s foray into narrative games is an exciting opportunity for the company.

Uken is looking for a Game Designer to become a driving force on one of our game teams. This role will work closely with Developers and Artists to create amazing, fun, social mobile game experiences.

As a Ukenite, you'll be working on meaningful things like:

  • Balancing features and owning the game economy
  • Conceptualizing game ideas and mechanics in detail
  • Prototyping and testing new mechanics and systems
  • Working closely with developers and artists to implement ideas
  • Analyzing user behaviour and metrics to perfect the game experience
  • Managing & updating game content and copy

Your background should include:

  • At least 3 years experience as a Game Designer
  • Proven game design talents and excellent knowledge of free to play game mechanics
  • The ability to think through and document designs resulting in cohesive GDDs and feature specs
  • The ability to comfortably build and manage game models in spreadsheets
  • The ability to communicate product design and paint a picture with data
  • An appetite to learn, grow, and take on increasingly more responsibility

It'd be a big plus if you have:

  • Shipped at least one large scale or a few smaller scale free to play social/mobile game(s)
  • Have a solid understanding of the game development life cycle
  • Have a background in programming
  • A strong foundation in math, economics, or finance
