We are looking for a director to join us and play a significant role in the technical steering of our programming team for Scalar, an innovative technology leveraging cloud computing to enable unprecedented scale to vastly detailed game world simulations that would not be possible otherwise.
Your main mission:
Define and own the technical vision of the programming team; work on the technical roadmap by establishing relevant KPIs and milestones
Anticipate and assess complex issues and propose solutions
Assure the quality by designing and validating the architecture; set the best practices and popularize them to the team
Work and set the direction from a long-term perspective, not only focusing on the immediate next milestone or current hot topic
Work closely with the team to ensure we have the best engineering processes, methods, and tools to improve our pipeline and achieve our targets
Help the programmers develop their skills, coach, and mentor them, empowering them to innovate and perform at their best
Stay up to date on technological advancements and industry standards to define our best practices and share them with the teams
Qualifications
The professional value you bring:
Professional expertise in cloud platform development (Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Azure)
The ability to influence change, anticipate obstacles and find creative solutions to resolve them
A good understanding and professional experience of working with modern C++, including package management, refactoring, optimization, debugging and testing
Knowledge and interest in DevOps, focused on automation and containerization
Experience working with networking protocols, client-server architecture, (RESTful) web services
