Job Description

  • Collaborate with all production teams to answer questions and solve complex technical and animation-related issues, identify, and communicate risks, share feedback and best practices while maintaining a balance between creative vision and technical constraints

  • Produce and maintain documentation on tools, methods, processes, and engine limits for consultation and future reference

  • Support content production animation teams in achieving top visual quality and performance

  • Developing technical tools and solutions to solve performance, ease workflow and animation production

  • Identify and develop animation-pipeline optimizations and tools for new and existing production workflow

  • Optimize memory and game performance by realizing animation and gameplay intentions within project constraints

  • Actively seek opportunities to improve the game(s) performance

  • Create technical benchmarks to be used in production, implement optimizations and monitor the performance of the game

  • Work with Animation Leads, Technical Directors, and QA to ensure that all art content conforms to technical requirements

  • Produce and maintain documentation on tools, methods, processes, and engine limits for consultation and future reference

  • Help build a community of best practice and support within a multi discipline team

Qualifications

  • Mid level of experience and in working on Tech Animation in a console or PC game development pipeline

  • Provide technical support for animation teams and animation pipelines

  • Scripting languages and programming concepts – python knowledge an advantage

  • Industry standard DCC tools and workflows, for animation and rigging content

  • Knowledge and experience working with Game editors and engines

  • Knowledge and understanding of animation systems, state machines, blend trees, etc

  • Ability to profile, identify and address animation production bottlenecks

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation for technical and non-technical audience

  • Being creative (original and resourceful in finding solutions)

  • Great communication skills, and a proactive and solution-oriented attitude

  • Ability to communicate constructively with positivity and respect for others
