With a song library of over 1,500 songs and 10 years of support the Rocksmith franchise helped millions of players around the world on their musical journey. In 2017, the studio released the critically acclaimed South Park™: The Fractured But Whole™, in collaboration with Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and South Park Digital Studios. The studio is currently working on innovative new titles with Rocksmith+ and XDefiant.
We are looking for a highly talented, motivated, and experienced person to work with us on XDefiant, a new multiplatform online multiplayer action game based in our San Francisco studio as a Full Time Remote employee.
XDefiant is a free-to-play, fast-paced arena shooter that combines intense gunplay with personalized loadouts and specialized factions, as teams battle each other for domination.
You’ll be a key player in designing, creating, and extending the rendering systems which bring our games to life. Based on the Snowdrop engine, XDefiant brings cutting-edge visuals to the latest platforms, and your contributions will enable the game content and our target platforms to shine. You will work on a small, collaboration-oriented team where you will have the opportunity to contribute in meaningful ways.
You’ll be part of the diverse Ubisoft San Francisco team. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Refine and develop our rendering architecture
Add cutting-edge graphical features to XDefiant
Optimize rendering code and systems
Collaborate with the Lead Core Engineer on technical design and feature roll out
Work with game teams and other engineers to identify systems in need of maintenance, optimization, or refactoring
Coordinate with other developers to ensure smooth roll out of new features
Review the work of other engineers and provide mentorship
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Solid C/C++ experience with understanding of multi-threaded programming
In-depth graphics knowledge using Direct3D or OpenGL
Experience writing and optimizing shaders using HLSL or GLSL
Experience building games as a rendering engineer for PlayStation, Xbox, or PC
Experience mentoring more junior engineers
Understanding of low-level optimizations and core subsystems, memory management, cross-platform development
Experience with technical requirement certification (Sony, Microsoft, etc.)
Experience on the new generation of consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X)
