Job Description

Role Summary:

The Senior Character Artist is responsible for creating benchmark quality and technically sound art, in line with the game's artistic direction. You are expected to push the quality and innovation of making character art for games and mentoring other artists across the team. You are also expected to raise concerns or problems and propose creative and effective solutions. The Senior Character Artist reports to the Lead Character Artist and will work closely with other content teams for optimal character asset production output and feature development involving character content.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating benchmark quality and technically sound art for the game.

  • Expected to set the standard of quality and innovation in making character art for the project.

  • Understand, adapt and follow the direction set by art directors and the timeline by the lead artist.

  • Create technically compliant art assets used as a reference and learning material to lift standards across teams while working with TAs, TDs, FX and lighting with minimum iterations.

  • Exercise efficiency in delivering project priorities on time.

  • Exercise autonomy by making responsible decisions and taking ownership of the deliverables with minimal supervision.

  • Work closely with fellow artists, programmers, animators, game designers and sound designers to develop game features involving character content.

  • Provide support to innovate, maintain or improve on the character pipeline.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in character modelling or any other relevant experience, preferably in the AAA video game industry

  • Good team player with the ability to collaborate with members of different teams and projects with maturity.

  • Actively participate and communicate in the knowledge sharing, problem investigation and resolution within the studio.

  • Possesses excellent market knowledge of the game industry and able to adapt content to the expectations of our consumers.
