Job Description

We are now looking for a Senior Gameplay Designer for our unannounced AAA project

You will be responsible for driving the design of selected gameplay features within a collaborative, versatile and diverse environment. You will join a global open-world multiplayer project where several Ubisoft studios have come together to create original and memorable gaming experiences. As a Senior Gameplay Designer, you will guide the team in implementing various gameplay features, while working in close collaboration with designers, level designers and other gameplay and programming teams.

We offer you a key position in an ambitious AAA open-world multiplayer game with a new IP. You have the opportunity to work with core content impacting the player experience. Your home base is RedLynx’s friendly studio where we are competent and focused without forgetting how to have fun, and you will have the opportunity to work with brilliant colleagues both in Finland and abroad.

Don’t live in Finland yet? You may have the opportunity to work remotely in the beginning. Later, we are happy to support your relocation to Helsinki. We would also like to mention that we work in a hybrid model, enjoying the flexibility of both off- and on-site work.

Core responsibilities

  • Design game systems and elements to make sure the game is as enjoyable and engaging as possible.
  • Iterate on the game mechanics based on feedback and propose new innovative game mechanics.
  • Work closely with the gameplay programming team, prototyping, and implementing features with gameplay first mentality.
  • Collaborate with project leads (such as the Game Director, World Director, Design Lead, Art Director, and Producer).

Qualifications

Our dream candidate

  • Has strong previous experience in PC/Console game design – with a substantial focus on gameplay system design.
  • Takes ownership of their work and is proactive in defining ambitious key results, planning, and executing tasks.
  • Has very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fosters teamwork and is happy to discuss ideas and negotiate in groups.
  • Stays informed about the evolving and emerging practices, tools and standards in the field.
  • Can mentor, coach and develop more junior team members.
  • Has excellent level of English language skills.

We also appreciate

  • Enthusiasm for PC/Console gamers and a lot of experience playing multiplayer games.
  • UX mindset.
  • Technical game design capabilities (basic coding/scripting skills is a plus).
  • Knowledge about physics.
