Since opening its doors in 2008, Ubisoft Singapore has become the biggest AAA game development studio in Southeast Asia. The 500-strong studio is home to 35+ different nationalities focused on delivering ambitious gaming experiences to our players. Ubisoft Singapore has been contributing to all the Assassin’s Creed® titles since Assassin’s Creed® II. It innovated within the franchise as the studio behind the naval battle gameplay and water technology in Assassin’s Creed® III, Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag® and most recently in Assassin’s Creed® Valhalla. Its expertise in AAA and live operations, combined with a passion for naval gameplay, pushed the team to lead the development of Skull and Bones™ revealed at E3 in 2017.



The Realization Director works in partnership with other directors to provide direction in creating intense emotional experiences during gameplay and cinematics. The RD will drive realization topics (Cinematics, scripted sequences, character realization, camera direction, and VFX) that support Core GP experience and Game Modes intentions, fully supports the game’s vision and is coherent with the art, game and world direction. They will also help define the cinematic style based on the branding and will be involved in the conception and creation of cinematic marketing assets. The RD works with their team and production to drive realization topics from conception through to final high-quality implementation.


Functional (Gameplay)

  • Aligns with directors on their area and creates briefs that define the scope of realization.
  • Provide direction on how realization can improve gameplay signs and feedback.
  • Works closely with production to set the priority of realization topics after alignment with the creative director.
  • Works closely with their team to delegate and empower them to drive realization topics.
  • Works closely with the Creative Leadership to push the quality of realization.

Functional (Narrative)

  • Ensure game values are respected during production when developing the main characters and key narrative elements with the screenwriter, from the design stage to the final product, and at other times in the process.
  • Understand the gameplay elements and assess how they could affect the development of the story to provide feedback and adjustments where necessary.
  • Control the quality of the mise-en-scène, composition, framing, camera, music, and special effects to remain as much in keeping with the director’s vision as possible.
  • Work in collaboration with the narrative designer, creative and artistic directors and the director of animation to manage all of the game’s narrative and fantasy development (i.e., producing the scripted moments and in-game elements to support gameplay intentions) and ensure fluid communication between the parties.
  • Direct &/or oversee the script/scene-breakdown, storyboarding & pre-viz, movement/animation creation, camerawork, and final edits of all scenes. Be involved with all casting, and voice recordings.


  • Shows maturity in problem and conflict resolution. Proactively voices out concern to stake holders with supported justification.
  • Maintains a professional and healthy relationship with all the team members.
  • Approachable and maintains a positive attitude in meetings (reviews, planning…).
  • Show exemplary commitment, even in critical situations.
  • Collaborate with the art director(s) to ensure alignment between artistic vision and lore (bible).
  • Ensure close collaboration with the collab studios when necessary.


  • Actively communicate all dependencies, changes and task completion to PMs.
  • Initiate and participate in the knowledge sharing, problem solving, and technology research with other team leaders within and/or across projects.

Pipelines and processes

  • Create and maintain workflow documentation for your team’s content.
  • Work with team members to teach them best practices and techniques.
  • Monitor content to ensure that memory and performance budgets are respected.


  • Works according to the priorities in JIRA.
  • Shows maturity in planning their work and providing visibility to production.
  • Provides regular visibility on progress of their work by archiving and sharing content.



  • At least 10 years’ experience in 3D Realization related field – cinematography, cinematics & animation direction, etc
  • Has very good knowledge of the video game industry and its evolution
  • Uses their knowledge of the competition to adapt game to the expectations of consumers
  • Ability to produce high quality video footage for marketing/brand asset creation
  • Expert knowledge of one or more 3D packages
  • Good knowledge of the technical constraints linked to real time, 3D engines and level editors
  • Creative, with keen eye for details
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
