Programming Team Lead (Harbour)

${ timestamp }} ·
🇨🇦 Montréal, QC

Job Description

As a Programming Team Lead within Ubi MTL’s Harbour Team, you oversee a group of back-end programmers in developing a live, online web platform that supports all our Ubisoft games.

You guide them in building the foundational features that make up the platform. That includes social features like chat boxes and data-backed ones like personalized suggestions, among others.

Your team achieves its goals thanks to your technical know-how, leadership, and ability to make informed choices. When quality features are delivered and when they work together cohesively, you know you have contributed to delivering a reliable, consistent, enriching experience to our players. And that’s what truly motivates you.

What you’ll do

On a typical day, you gather your team to discuss progress with assigned tasks. You note issues and brainstorm ways to address them. You review outstanding bugs and how best to approach them. You communicate regularly with leads from other disciplines, to plan ahead, identify risks, and deliver on time.

You code alongside your team on a daily basis. You regularly update your project lead on your team’s assignments and meet with other leads both within and outside your project to discuss how to improve workflows and share technology.

What you bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • Around 8 years of software development experience (or other relevant experience) + 3 years of management
  • Proficiency in a variety of programming languages (especially C#, JavaScript, C++, and WPF)
  • Solid interpersonal, and communication skills
  • The ability to remain calm when faced with setbacks (you know there’s always a solution at hand)
  • An understanding of live operations
  • Empathy that allows you to see from a player’s point of view as well as your team’s

What to send our way

  • Your CV, highlighting your education, experience, and skills

A real live person will review your application. In this case, it’s our talent acquisition specialist Karin. As she learns more about you through your profile, get to know her through the video below.
