JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

This position is responsible for the planning, designing, implementing, and testing of all aspects of wire/wireless networks in Ubisoft corporate sites. As a part of global network team, he will also support for the Ubisoft worldwide corporate network operations (including 7/24 pager support). the health and operations of our telecommunication platform. He will also contribute to the execution of various projects and will act as a second level support for the Ubisoft worldwide network (including 7/24 pager support). The scope includes the global management of our network devices, as well as firewalls and VPN technologies.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities and routine tasks of the Network Administrator are to:

Global wireless network solution design

  • Work with wireless network and solution team to define the wireless network standard for Ubisoft corporate sites include hardware, software, configuration and maintenance relevant documentation
  • Participate global wireless network evolution project and contribute to design validation test, proof of concept test, etc.
  • Manage wireless service roadmap and milestone with other wireless network specialists

Wireless network project and operation support for corporate sites

  • Support project manager to design wireless network solution for Ubisoft sites
  • Support corporate site local IT teams for wireless network deployment
  • Validate and report any issue and discrepancies between the design and the physical installation or site modification
  • Validate and recommend access-point mounting solution when required
  • Perform pre-deployment and post deployment site survey by using Ubisoft standard tool.
  • Perform wireless network configuration of Ubisoft site according to the wireless design
  • Support operational tickets for wireless network service

General network service support:

  • Install and maintain various network equipment, including Wi-Fi, Cisco switches, routers;, load balancers, and wan optimization appliances;
  • Deploy and maintain Site-to-Site VPN infrastructure;
  • Manage corporate firewalls and their rule sets;
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network infrastructure and services;
  • Enforce network security policies and procedures;
  • Perform proactive network capacity management activities;
  • Maintain documentation regarding network hardware and software;
  • Participate to the definition of standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics as directed;
  • Assist in evaluating new requirements, technical design and standards;
  • Answer user’s query and service requests;
  • Advanced troubleshooting of emergency situations on the network, must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as required
  • Carry out all other related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical skills and Knowledge

  • In-depth experience and working knowledge about IP networks, specifically layer 2 networking
  • Expertise in Cisco switches, and routers, and in the configuration of IOS and wireless AP
  • Expertise in network technologies, protocols and concepts, such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, HTTP, FTP, DHCP, SMTP, CIFS, SMB, etc.
  • Good knowledge of various wifi protocol
  • Good knowledge of network cabling
  • Good knowledge of Power over ethernet standard
  • Good knowledge of the effect of walls and other material on RF propagation
  • Experience in Access-point installation and various mounting
  • Experience in conducting wireless site survey
  • Ekahau site survey Pro with Sidekick experience is a plus
  • Ekahau ECSE or Ekahau Design certification is the Holy Grail
  • Good knowledge of wifi alliance wifi generation or 802.11 b/g/n/ac/ax
  • Basic knowledge in wireless packet capture (experience with Wireshark is a plus)
  • Basic knowledge in wireless spectrum analysis (experience with Metageek chanalyzer is a plus)
  • Good knowledge of network monitoring tool (Orion, Zabbix, etc.)
  • General Knowledge of programming (shell scripting, PerlPython, etc.)
  • General Knowledge of configuration management Tools (Ansible, Chef, etc.)
  • General knowledge of Linux and Microsoft operating systems

Education & Experience

  • A baccalaureate Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • CCNP certification is preferredan asset
  • RHCE Certification is preferred
  • CCNA wireless or CWNA wireless is preferred
  • 4+ years of experience as network wireless specialist or engineer in a large organization.
