Job Description

Your role

Ubisoft is seeking a full-time Model Artist, based in our Chengdu studio. We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented and experienced talent.

This person will strive to have an effective workflow to create models of assets and characters with higher quality and efficiency.

What you will do

  • Participate in production of high-quality AAA models
  • Continuously look for ways to improve production quality and efficiency, optimize workflow
  • Independently and efficiently complete assigned model tasks, participate in outsourcing quality validation, polish outsourcing model and texture to reach the higher quality.
  • Working together with team members, leads, external teams and lead studio to push project quality
  • Balancing quality and efficiency of models work to reach the best results within given time frames

Qualifications

  • 2+ years game industry production experience
  • Multiple shipped realistic games with high quality
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk May, Autodesk 3ds max 2014, Adobe Photoshop CC, Substance
  • Painter and/or other modelling, material and texture creation tools
  • Experience with next gen game development and physically based rendering expertise (PBR)
  • Coordinative, proactive, and initiative mindset is needed
  • Basic reading and written English are required but oral English is a plus
  • Have a great understanding of game asset model optimization, deliver high-quality models of assets under strict technical constraints

Additional Information

  • Familiar with realistic PBR workflow of texture production, good at Substance Painter and Substance Designer
  • Experience in realistic AAA games is a plus
