Job Description

Main Objective

A Localization Project Manager works closely with production teams/publishing teams from both China and worldwide, responsible for organizing and managing game localization of multiple languages, during the pre-launch and post-launch of a game. They find the most suitable solutions to cope with local market objectives, linguistic/technical constraints and project’s specificities.

Missions

  • Define the Chinese localization and communication flow, putting action plans into place to improve content and ensure their implementation on the ground
  • Set the Localization budget, planning and risk assessment.
  • Be the champion of Chinese localization, reviewing the scripts and game text, and attending all the recording sessions.
  • Analyze the game scope and content from the localization perspective and, together with the development team, set the linguistic guidelines of the project with a priority on the censorship adaptations required for Chinese versions.
  • Set up and direct “best fit” external and/or internal teams (translators, proofreaders, studios, actors, testers).

Qualifications

  • Organizational skill (orchestrating timeline, internal/external resource, and workflow is the core of loc pm’s responsibilities)
  • Collaboration willingness and communicational skills (a loc pm has to talk to vendors/prod teams/and coworkers)
  • Linguistic skill (both English and Chinese proficiency are required)
  • Gaming background (likes video games)
