Job Description

The Anno series delivers a rich city-building experience and provides players ample opportunities to create huge metropolises, plan efficient logistic networks, explore and settle new lands and dominate their opponents by diplomacy, trade or warfare. Our team is now looking for a talented Intern Prop Artist (f/m/d) to join us at Ubisoft Mainz in Germany.

[This position will be a paid internship and is planned for a duration of 6 months]

In this role, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with the major focus on creation and integration of 3D content in line with the vision and technology of the project.

What you will do:

  • Closely collaborate with the Art Director and Lead Artist to work within the visual style of the game
  • Modelling, texturing and implementation of high-quality 3D assets (architecture, props, modular kits)
  • Integration of 3D assets into our game engine, making sure they fit engine requirements and quality expectations
  • Verify the quality of your work once imported into the game and make improvements when necessary
  • Use specific project tools in order to achieve best results and meet deadlines
  • Setup configuration, dynamic objects and other functionalities of art assets

Qualifications

What you bring:

  • You are at ease with the various steps in the design of real-time 3D assets: high and low poly modelling, baking processes, and texturing
  • You are familiar with one of the following 3D programs: 3DSMax, Maya or Blender
  • You can quickly learn technical constraints of platforms, engines and software
  • A rough understanding of next gen asset creation and PBR workflow
  • A keen eye for composition, shape, color and detail
  • Ability to construct and elaborate on assets/props based on key reference or concepts
  • You are a proactive team player and strong communicator with a positive attitude
  • Curiosity and a strong interest in the video game industry
  • Very good command of spoken and written English

    • Both organic and hard surface works
    • Examples of style variety

This position will be a paid internship and is planned for a duration of 6 months.
