Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis structure this role plays an integral role focusing on delivering value added analysis to Canada-wide studio management, as well as the headquarters Finance team located in France. This analysis will be focused on both studio structure operations, as well as business case analysis/studies on significant Canada-wide topics.
What you'll do
Help consolidate and analyze each studio budget and total Canada budget along with KPI metrics and analysis (high level, and deeper metrics along with studio comparisons/benchmarking) - highlight notable metrics with Managing Director decision making in mind
Analyze the "story" behind the numbers - trends, major issues impacting the costs, raising awareness to potential future impacts/risks identified through key metrics - anticipate large upcoming studio decisions and how these will impact the key metrics
Assist with quarterly “zone 1” managing director managing director meetings. budgets/KPI/benchmarking/concerning trends etc.
Review the “zone 1” studio structure financial metrics quarterly with the headquarters Finance team in France – help to prepare and explain key metrics.
Model building / forecasting at a macro level
Ad hoc business cases / analysis as required (ROI focus for investments, leases, depts/services, gov't subsidies/investments, etc)
Help identify, raise, and analyze opportunities to optimize costs.
Qualifications
What you'll bring to the team
Strong analytical skills: ability to identify relevant metrics unique to each situation, comfortable thinking beyond the typical KPIs
Strong presentation skills: ability to articulate and synthesize complicated topics into clear and concise communications both visually and verbally
Database skills: ability to query and manipulate data to suit the study or business case. Tableau and SQL skills are an asset.
Experience building business cases with an ROI focus
Strong accounting fundamentals to help identify anomalies, trends, etc
Strong MS Excel skills
